FIPS Validations


The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) develops standards and guidelines for U.S. Government computer systems and related technology. These standards and guidelines are published as Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) documents.

FIPS publication 140-2, Security Requirements for Cryptographic Modules, and its predecessor FIPS PUB 140-1 specifiy security standards covering eleven design and implementation areas and four security levels. All cryptographic modules used by any government department or other regulated industries such as finance and healthcare to protect sensitive but unclassified information must pass validation against current FIPS 140 standards.

SPYRUS Hydra PC, Rosetta, and LYNKS security devices are either validated or undergoing validation for FIPS 140-2 security requirements. Our FIPS 140 validation program shows a commitment by SPYRUS to provide trusted quality in every one of our products.
