Attribute Authority
The SPYRUS PKI System fully supports Attribute Authorities and Attribute Certificates. Attribute Authorities are as easily supported and deployed as Certification Authorities. SPYRUS has successfully deployed an Attribute Authority with a contactless Smart Card and X9.84 encoded biometrics for a trial of a physical and logical access system for the Department of Defense Biometric Management office. The diagram below illustrates the relationships and levels of trust between Attribute Authorities and other components in the SPYRUS PKI.
Attribute Certificate Profiling
The SPYRUS PKI uses the same type of policy module concept for enabling different types of attribute certificate profiles. Like PPMs, the Attribute Policy Modules (APM) offer a very open and flexible tool for managing attribute certificates.
