Hydra PC Digital Attaché provides hardware-based, sector-by-sector full disk encryption to the removeable miniSD/microSD or miniSDHC/microSDHC memory card. This means that all data on the card, including file names and other metadata, are encrypted at all times. Files can also be encrypted on a file-by-file basis by the Hydra PC Digital Attaché and then stored on the full disk encryption protected memory card for a double layer of hardware-based encryption protection.
Hydra PC Digital Attacheé is now available in a new 30% smaller case design.
Memory cards used with the Hydra PC Digital Attaché can be configured as multiple drives by hardware compartmentalization: one compartment with hardware-based full disk encryption and one clear (unencrypted) compartment. Any file in the encrypted compartment can be opened, modified, and saved without becoming vulnerable to interception, because the files are protected by full disk encryption. The clear compartment can be used just like a conventional USB flash drive. Each compartment can be configured with different file permissions and formatted into additional partitions.
Digital Attaché users can share secure access to the removable memory card with a designated list of known and authenticated Digital Attaché devices. The memory card will not work in an undesignated Digital Attaché, even if the user knows the correct PIN. |

An optional feature automatically includes the encryption keys of a designated Recovery Agent Hydra PC each time a file is encrypted. The Recovery Agent Hydra PC can decrypt files even if the encrypting Hydra PC is lost, stolen, or destroyed. |

The Hydra PC Digital Attaché offers numerous flexible options for limiting access to only those users with a specific need for specific data or to only specific devices.

Hydra PC Digital Attaché delivers the same strong encryption and enterprise management features provided by the Hydra PC Enterprise Edition, including the following:
- Hardware-based encryption using the strongest cryptographic algorithms and key lengths commercially available today. Algorithms used exceed the Suite B standards approved by the U.S. Government to protect both unclassified and classified information through the TOP SECRET level. Supported algorithms include AES 128/192/256, ECC p-256/384/521, and SHA-224/256/384/512, as well as 3DES, SHA-1, and RSA legacy algorithms.
- Encrypted files can be shared individually with a secure list of certificate-authenticated Hydra PC users. Only Hydra PC users on the share list can decrypt the designated files.
- An exclusive authentication feature can limit the use of a Hydra PC Digital Attaché or Enterprise Edition to a specifically designated enclave of one or more computers. The Hydra PC cannot be used in computers that are outside the enclave, even if the user knows the logon PIN.
- The Hydra PC Sentry feature blocks read and write access to removable USB and IEEE 1394 (FireWire) storage devices that use a disk file system. This prevents unauthorized file copying to or from blocked drives.
- Can provide dual use as a security token to safeguard a user's Windows logon password and the private keys associated with digital certificates. Compatible with industry-standard smart card logon protocols, S/MIME secure e-mail technology, and Web-based SSL/TLS with mutual authentication. Also provides two-factor authentication for SecureDoc and other full disk encryption programs for the computer hard drive.
- Device administration operations such as key management can be restricted to designated persons for better control in large organizations.
- Central management features for enterprise networks include remote software installation, remote enclave and Recovery Agent management, and remote administration of policy settings such as event logging and certificate validation.
- Passwords, digital certificates, and encrypted files stored on the Hydra PC require a PIN. for access. After 10 incorrect PIN entries, access is blocked and keys destroyed.
