The Hydra Privacy Card® (Hydra PC™) Series II Enterprise Edition is a unique, multifunctional security device that combines the features of a USB security token and portable storage drive with the strongest encryption technology commercially available. Secure hardware-based encryption sets Hydra PC apart from other file encryption solutions.
Hydra PC Enterprise Edition contains features supporting large organizations, such as encrypted file sharing, enterprise-wide software installation, and central device management.
The Hydra PC Enterprise Edition is the only hardware-based USB encryption device approved under the U.S. Department of Defense/GSA SmartBUY Data at Rest Program. All Department of Defense agencies, federal, state and local governments, and NATO can purchase the Hydra PC Enterprise Edition under the SPYRUS Talisman/DS Data Security Suite of products under GSA SmartBUY BPA # FA8771-07-A-0308.
The on-board file encryptor uses algorithms specified in the U. S. Government's Suite B standard, including AES, ECC, and SHA-2. The Hydra PC Personal Encryption Device stores encrypted files on a replaceable miniSD/miniSDHC memory card for almost unlimited storage capacity. You can also store encrypted files on your computer's hard drive or any portable storage drive.
The Hydra PC Enterprise Edition supports security-aware applications such as Microsoft Windows smart card logon, e-mail digital signatures and encryption, and secure Web browsers.

Hydra PC Enterprise Edition Features
- Hardware-based encryption using the strongest cryptographic algorithms and key lengths commercially available today. Algorithms used exceed the Suite B standards approved by the U.S. Government to protect both unclassified and classified information throught the TOP SECRET level. Supported algorithms include AES 128/192/256, ECC p-256/384/521, and SHA-224/256/384/512, as well as 3DES, SHA-1, and RSA legacy algorithms.
- Encrypted files can be shared individually with a secure list of certificate-authenticated Hydra PC users. Only Hydra PC users on the share list can decrypt the designated files.
- An exclusive authentication feature can limit the use of a Hydra PC Enterprise Edition to a specifically designated enclave of one or more computers. The Hydra PC cannot be used in computers that are outside the enclave, even if the user knows the logon PIN.
- An optional feature automatically includes the encryption keys of a designated Recovery Agent Hydra PC each time a file is encrypted. The Recovery Agent Hydra PC can decrypt files even if the encrypting Hydra PC is lost, stolen, or destroyed.
- The Hydra PC Sentry feature blocks read and write access to removable USB and IEEE 1394 (FireWire) storage devices that use a disk file system. This prevents unauthorized file copying to or from blocked drives.
- Can provide dual use as a security token to safeguard a user's Windows logon password and the private keys associated with digital certificates. Compatible with industry-standard smart card logon protocols, S/MIME secure e-mail technology, and Web-based SSL/TLS with mutual authentication. Also provides two-factor authentication for SecureDoc and other full disk encryption programs for the computer hard drive.
- Device administration operations such as key management can be restricted to designated persons for better control in large organizations.
- Central management features for enterprise networks include remote software installation, remote enclave and Recovery Agent management, and remote administration of policy settings such as event logging and certificate validation.
- Passwords, digital certificates, and encrypted files stored on the Hydra PC require a PIN. for access. After 10 incorrect PIN entries, access is blocked and keys destroyed.
