ZNet Tech Brings SPYRUS Solutions to GSA Schedule

NEWS

Federal Agencies to Benefit from Access to Solutions Providing Highest Level of  Verified Identity and Encrypted Data Protection

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Nov. 5, 2019 — SPYRUS Solutions, Inc (“SPYRUS”) announced today its products will be available on GSA Schedule through ZNet Tech GSA contract #47QSWA19D0092.  GSA Schedule Contracts streamline the government sales process with pre-established pricing, terms and conditions that enable government buyers to more quickly purchase from a listed company.  ZNet Tech has been providing the Federal Government and industry partners with acquisition support for more than a decade.

Increasingly, government agencies are adopting cloud services to meet mission-critical needs.  Agencies are required to protect federal information collected, maintained, processed, disseminated or disposed of by cloud service offerings.  In addition, government agencies face increasing cybersecurity threats.  These trends are leading agencies to seek innovative security solutions.

ZNet Tech will offer SPYRUS solutions as part of its cybersecurity suite of solutions, which enable an IT organization to have a consistent and repeatable method for encrypting, enforcing access policies and gaining security intelligence for all structured and unstructured data.

“We are excited to make SPYRUS security products available to our federal government customers,” said Gary Block, president, ZNet Tech. “As cybers attacks like ransomware threaten government agencies, they need access to solutions that provide protection of identities, data and endpoints.  SPYRUS helps assure agencies can protect themselves.”

SPYRUS provides a comprehensive suite of products and solutions that ensure the highest level of verified identity and encrypted data protection, and help ensure customers meet stringent “mandate to secure” requirements.  Government agencies are deploying SPYRUS solutions to ensure end point identity, while protecting it with strong data encryption at rest, in motion and in process—no matter the device or application.   The SPYRUS Enterprise Management System (SEMS) is a “security as a service” platform which connects enterprise end points via SPYCOS, the company’s device-independent Cryptographic Operating System, to provide the highest level of data protection and identity access.  A SPYCOS protected device managed by the SEMS platform ensures the integrity of the cryptographic keys, processes and certificates of any edge device or application.  The SPYRUS NcryptNshare application extends that same protection to virtual data objects or vaults in a traditionally non-secure cloud environment.  The result is portable encryption that is fast to deploy and scale and anchored to the cloud, ensuring enterprises and their customers or subscribers trust transactions to and from the edge.

“Given the nature of their work, government agencies are under extreme pressure to protect mission-critical data,” explained Grant Evans, chief executive officer and chairman, SPYRUS.  “And, they are not immune to the rising complexity and frequency of cyberattacks the private sector faces regularly.  We are pleased ZNet Tech will make it easier for government agencies to acquire our security solutions.”

Sectigo and SPYRUS Partner to Combat Ransomware Attacks with Fully Automated Digital Identity Management

NEWS

Collaboration Ensures the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability of Sensitive Data; Higher Education Among Early Adopters

ROSELAND, N.J. and SAN JOSE, Calif., – October 8, 2019 – Sectigo, the world’s largest commercial Certificate Authority (CA) and a provider of purpose-built and automated PKI management solutions, today announced a partnership with SPYRUS, a provider of cryptographic operating systems delivering the strongest protection for data in motion, at rest, and at work, to help universities and enterprises protect against ransomware attacks. By collaborating, Sectigo and SPYRUS ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data, enabling organizations to combat ransomware attacks.

“It is increasingly important for enterprises to manage and secure digital identities properly,” said Damon Kachur, Vice President, IoT Solutions, Sectigo. “The collaboration between Sectigo and SPYRUS combines purpose-built PKI solutions with cryptographic operating systems to fully automate digital identity management, helping to assure organizations that their sensitive data is protected from cybercriminals.”

Device identity, authentication, and access management are critical to ransomware prevention. The SPYRUS Rosetta™ Hardware “Root of Trust” product suite protects the private keys for Sectigo-provided device identity and encryption certificates to enable strong authentication and secure storage. Together, SPYRUS and Sectigo provide fully automated management of all digital identities, regardless of issuer, across use cases, such as banking and financial transactions, as well as computing and IoT device authentication, using modern industry standards.

Cybersecurity Ventures predicts that a new organization will fall victim to a ransomware attack every 11 seconds by 2021. A type of malware attack, ransomware is spread through malicious email attachments, infected software apps, and external storage devices. Public sector organizations are hit particularly hard by Ransomware attacks, which lock the data on a victim’s computer until a cybercriminal receives payment and returns access. For example, hacks of school districts and universities are causing cities to declare a state of emergency, and a recent ransomware attack on the Baltimore government cost the city $18.2 million.

Texas A&M University System Safeguards Research

“Given the openness of American society, particularly in academic and scientific communities, costly incidents of ransomware continue to grow. By partnering with Sectigo, we can comprehensively address the security challenges universities and enterprises face in managing digital identities,” explained Grant Evans, CEO, SPYRUS. “Our partnership with Sectigo enables enterprises across sectors to address device identity, authentication, and access to combat these attacks.”

The Texas A&M University System is deploying a model solution that will allow researchers in higher education to meet all of the requirements for Protecting Controlled Unclassified Information in Nonfederal Systems and Organizations, which is stipulated by the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) clause 252.204-7012 in accordance with NIST SP 800-171.

Kevin R. Gamache, Ph.D., chief research security officer with The Texas A&M University System, anticipates the Root of Trust offered by SPYRUS Solutions—along with the automated PKI management and distributed revocation status—will protect the University System’s authentication, encryption keys and algorithms.

“We expect solutions offered by SPYRUS and Sectigo to help ensure strong authenticated data encryption that will protect universities’ intellectual property. This model will scale to assure that all university research is secured and compliant with DFARS,” said Dr. Gamache.

SPYRUS Supports National Cybersecurity Awareness Month

NEWS

Company Focuses on Raising Awareness of Protecting Data at Rest, In Motion, on the Go

SAN JOSE, Calif.— Oct. 1, 2019 — SPYRUS Solutions, Inc (“SPYRUS”) announced today its commitment to raising awareness of cyberthreats we face today—such as ransomware—and how to protect against those threats throughout the month of October in support of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month (NCASM).  Held every October, NCASM is a collaborative effort between government and industry to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity and to ensure that all Americans have the resources they need to be safer and more secure online.

NCSAM 2019 emphasizes personal accountability and stresses the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity at home and in the workplace. This year’s overarching message — Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT. — will focus on key areas including citizen privacy, consumer devices, and ecommerce security.

“As a global leader in delivering products and solutions that ensure the highest level of verified identity and encrypted data protection, SPYRUS has seen increases in hacking and ransomware attacks,” commented Grant Evans, chief executive officer and chairman, SPYRUS Solutions.  “We know that enterprises also expose data due to employee mistakes or insider threats.  SPYRUS strongly supports DHS efforts to raise awareness and encourage all organizations to strengthen their security and protection practices.  We are committed to do our part to help organizations and individuals reduce their risk and become more secure.”

Throughout October, SPYRUS will share content around this year’s theme of “Own it. Secure it. Protect it.”  Enterprises across all vertical markets including government, finance and higher education, are grappling with the increasing sophistication of security threats as well as the challenges posed by employees bringing their own devices to the office or working remotely using unsecured Wi-Fi.  SPYRUS aims to bring leading edge encryption solutions to all enterprises seeking to protect their customer, employee and company data.

SPYRUS Signs Partner Agreement with ViMass to Protect Electronic Transactions Across Vietnam

NEWS

SPYRUS Solution Enables ViMass to Meet Government Mandate

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Aug. 27, 2019 — SPYRUS Solutions, Inc (“SPYRUS”) announced today it has signed a partner agreement with ViMass, a mobile communications service provider in Vietnam, to integrate FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified security with their secure financial payment services across the country.  With consumer transactions shifting from cash and credit cards to payment services on mobile devices, the demand for reliable and trusted authentication and encryption of mobile commerce is rising in response to the growing threat of cyberfraud.   In late 2018, the Vietnamese government issued Decree 130, which details the security requirements for e-transactions and accelerates the timeline for verifying and licensing digital signature certification services.  ViMass has received a license from the State Bank of Vietnam to provide three secure payment services to its subscribers—payment gateway, collect on delivery and digital wallet.

“ViMass is proud to be one of the non-bank organizations licensed to provide payment services in Vietnam under Decree 130,” said Mr. Tran Viet Trung, chief executive officer of ViMass. “We chose SPYRUS to be our partner because of their innovative technologies providing FIPS certified encryption and authentication technologies to protect our customers transactions. We are pleased to work with SPYRUS to confidently protect our customers from cyberfraud without impeding the convenience of mobile banking.”

Since March 2019, SPYRUS has provided its FIPS 140-2 Level 3 certified Rosetta USB and the internal HSM within the Rosetta microSDHC to support the required PKI functions of authentication, signing and certificate import.  This solution enables ViMass to securely connect and digitally sign all internet transactions between consumers, enterprises, and the servers of banks, financial institutions, trading and brokerage firms, public service providers, and public Internet of Things (IoT) devices.  The ViMass Wallet application can integrate digital signatures to authenticate all transfers, payments and electronic invoice issuance both on websites and mobile phones.  The SPYRUS solution is currently deployed for Android devices.  SPYRUS will augment this solution with TrustedFlash™ AES-256 hardware encrypted microSDHC devices for secure storage of financial information and support of PKI and encrypted storage for iOS devices in the near future.

“Cyberfraud is a serious issue impacting mobile transactions,” explained Grant Evans, chairman and chief executive officer, SPYRUS.  “As these transactions become the default way to do business, it is crucial all points in such transactions are protected.  We anticipate more governments around the globe will consider stringent regulations as Vietnam has done.  SPYRUS is pleased to partner with ViMass and demonstrate the art of the possible.”

SPYRUS Commits Secure Support for Windows To Go for Next Decade

NEWS

SPYRUS Solution Only US Secure USB Device Manufacturer Certified by Microsoft

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Aug. 20, 2019 — SPYRUS Solutions, Inc (“SPYRUS”) announced today it will continue to support Windows To Go drives through 2029 to ensure continuity for Microsoft customers. Windows To Go is a feature in Windows 8 Enterprise, Windows 8.1 Enterprise, Windows 10 Education, Windows 10 Enterprise and Windows 10 Pro that allows them to boot and run a fully manageable Windows environment from USB storage devices certified by Microsoft as compatible and secure. Microsoft recently announced their support for Windows To Go development will be discontinued. Microsoft is removing Windows To Go creator tools from the operating system including pwcreator.exe.

SPYRUS is the only US-based manufacturer of secure USB devices that has been certified by Microsoft to continue to provide support for Windows To Go. All six of the SPYRUS Microsoft certified FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Windows To Go live drives do not use pwcreator.exe and will be unaffected by this change, and will work as they currently do in terms of receiving updates. LTSB/LTSC versions of Windows 10 will continue to support Windows To Go until 2029 and will also be seamlessly supported by the SPYRUS Window To Go drives and creator tools. SPYRUS worked diligently to provide custom tools that seamlessly integrated into the Windows environment to give customers the security they demand while ensuring the custom tools did not conflict with standard Windows 10 operations.

“Microsoft customers that rely on Windows To Go can be assured SPYRUS products will support their current workflow without hiccups in updates or oversights in security for the next ten years,” said Grant Evans, chairman and chief executive officer, SPYRUS Solutions. “SPYRUS is committed to providing the highest quality hardware and software security solutions, manufactured in the US, to protect data and applications in motion, at rest, and in process.”

SPYRUS developed its own creator tools to ensure complete protection for customers using Windows To Go live drives. In addition, these creator tools also support simultaneous provisioning (with powered hubs) for up to 15 Windows To Go drives.

SPYRUS Helps Protect Against Ransomware Attacks as Cities and Universities Experience Unprecedented Demands

NEWS

New Leadership Expands Focus on Security as a Platform Services

SAN JOSE, Calif. — July 31, 2019 — SPYRUS Solutions, Inc. (“SPYRUS”) is focused on solving the growing threats of ransomware attacks as another city declares state of emergency after multiple universities hacked.  As municipalities strive to become “smart cities,” they are moving more business to the edge via ecommerce sites, social media platforms, embedded sensors, and streaming services.  The move to the edge promises multiple benefits of greater citizen or subscriber engagement, improved network performance and speed, and new revenue opportunities.  However, this move also leaves them vulnerable to an increase in security attacks.  The rise and escalation in ransom demands have heightened security concerns.

Vertical industries like government, insurance, healthcare and higher education are deploying SPYRUS solutions to ensure end point identity, while protecting it with strong data encryption at rest, in motion and in process—no matter the device or application.

“SPYRUS is solving the biggest challenges organizations face today—data security,” said Sue Rudd, director of Service Provider Analysis at Strategy Analytics.  “Its device-independent solutions allow them to secure any of their PCs or video cameras with easy to use “BYOD” tools at the office, the coffee shop or the airport.”

SPYRUS has expanded its focus on security as a service since Grant Evans was named company Chairman and CEO in late 2018.  Evans brings more than 30 years of operating experience at building start-ups, private multimillion dollar operations and publicly traded companies to this role.   He is a recognized security leader.  Evans has held several chief executive officer positions at ActivIdentity, NetFortis and A4Vision.

“Hacking continues to be the most common data breach tactic,” explained Grant Evans, chairman and chief executive officer, SPYRUS.  “But enterprises also expose data due to employee mistakes, insider threats and data on the move.  Enterprises can no longer rely on “good enough” security solutions or processes.  The increasing regulatory pressures and consumer sentiment are forcing enterprises to improve how they secure data at rest, in motion and in process.  SPYRUS provides a comprehensive suite of products and solutions that ensure the highest level of verified identity and encrypted data protection, and help ensure our customers meet the stringent “mandate to secure” requirements.”
