Technology Partners

Infineon

SPYRUS first partnered with Infineon in 1996, when SPYRUS began to develop the SPYRUS SPYCOS ISO 7816 multi-application cryptographic operating system. Infineon, a Siemens company, is the preferred chip supplier for SPYRUS. After years of joint specification development, Infineon microprocessor-based chips have all the essential requirements to support security applications in a smart card. SPYRUS enhances the Infineon SLE 66CXXXXX chips with its proprietary SPYCOS software used in its Rosetta client authentication products. This chip has successfully achieved ITSEC EAL4+ certification. SPYRUS combined its Rosetta software-enhanced identity devices with the Infineon chip to achieve FIPS 140-1 PUB Levels 2 and 3 on its identity devices.

Microsoft

SPYRUS is a Microsoft Certified Partner. Our technology partnership with Microsoft began in 1994, working with the then newly formed Microsoft security group to bring to market a number of robust security solutions based on public key and portable smart tokens. Among them are the Crypto Service Provider(CSP) for Authenticode, a technical demonstration program for the UK Government showing e-mail and PKI interoperability, smart token products for secure log-on and single sign-on, and S/MIME Labeling for policy-driven secure e-mail.

In 1994, SPYRUS licensed its security protocol technology for Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook products to support the U.S. Department of Defense Message System (DMS), the largest public key messaging system in the world with over 300,000 seats deployed. This license has been renewed until 2006 to support the release of DMS 3.x and additional Microsoft platforms.

In 2001, SPYRUS and Microsoft announced the expansion of its partner ship to include SPYRUS development of the Signal Identity Manager™ that provides a complementary registration authority for digital identities with a smart token, policy, and audit management system in order to enhance the functionality of the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Certificate Services (Microsoft CA). Signal Identity Manager is seamlessly integrated with Windows Server 2003, utilizes the Microsoft CA certificate management interfaces to provide remote certificate and smart token management capabilities, and optimizes performance through the use of Active Directory.

In April 2002, SPYRUS and Precise Biometrics both teamed with KPMG Consulting under a government contract to successfully test and evaluate biometric technology as an added layer of security for the DoD Common Access Card.
